In the globalized world where forcible competition help build up cooperation, the College of Oriental Studies is committed to produce local experts who can contribute to expanding the exchange programs between Korea and countries in the Asia. For this purpose, it offers specialized education to train students to have fluent language skills and practical knowledge of local cultures and situations.

The Department of Central Asian Languages emphasizes on teaching languages, society, history, culture, politics, economy of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey thus nurturing local experts in the Central Asia who will lead the age of the in-land Asia.
